Trick Or Treat Playmobil Style
Trick-or-treating is a customary practice for children on Halloween in many countries. Children in costumes travel from house to house in order to ask for treats such as candy with the question "Trick or treat?". The "trick" is a (usually idle) threat to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property if no treat is given.
Looking thru' my Playmobil, Halloween subject are easily found, Some aren't from their Halloween offerings!
Scary Ghost, Mummy, Halloween Costume Pirate, Hooded Ghost & Grim Reaper
Executioner, Forest Sprit, Spirit, Forest Ghost, Witch
Ghost Pirates
Skeleton, Evil Queen, Fire Wizard, Sorcerers, Grome
Come to think of it, most playmobil figure do look like they are goin for a Halloween costume party!
Trick-or-treat?!

Hasbro Nightmare Before Christmas Carded Figures
In 1993, Hasbro release a line of PVCs celebrating Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas movie. The colours are bright & beautiful. The graphics on the packaging is gorgeous & the characters are spot-on. Hasbro truly captured the spirt of the movie.
The Hasbro PVC figures came carded with the exception of the boxed Lock, Shock and Barrel. The earlier batch of PVC figures were sold with their accessories loose on the card, while the later figures were sold with their accessories attached on the plastic trees.
Jack Skellington with stand and pumkin mask
Sally with stand, sewing kit and removable limbs
Dr. Finkelstein with stand and microscope
Mayor with stand and megaphone
Jack Skellington as Santa with stand, gift, hat and beard
Werewolf with stand and bone
Behemoth with stand and hammer
Lock, Shock and Barrel Box Set
Lock with devil mask and pitch fork
Shock with mask and broom
Barrel with mask and trick or treat bag
Nightmare Before Christmas enjoyed only a brief stay on toy shelves. I guess retailers were nervous about the monster x Christmas x Halloween mix-up and the film wasn't exactly rivaling Star Wars at the box office so the orders for toys were fairly low. Judging from the price tag I remove from the Mayor figure, some store marked down these figures for clearance.
However the movie picked up steam later & the demand for the figures rose dramatically in the 2nd hand market. Missing from my collection are Santa & Oogie Boogie. They were too expensive back then for me to obtain.
