Hot Toys Ironman MK3 Has Landed

Got it this evening at my regular toy store. Packed in a very impressive box. Multi-sided with beautiful graphics all around & the contents are even more impressive. Here are a few quick shots of it.

Great paint job & very nice Tony Stark head sculpt. But some parts of the paint is not applied evenly (especially with the gold). Not easy to find a pieces thats perfect, but still very high quallity over all. I have yet to turn on the light system at shoot time. Watch out for more detail pictures & review @ Alex's Toy Haven & Pre-mature Shooter's Testicular Fortitude blogs.

Is A School, A Town Hall & A Church...

Made in 1987 to 1990 was Playmobil's 3767 Western School House. A small school that double ups as the town hall & a church... an odd subject for a childs' toy, maybe thats why you don't see too many of them around.

Hard to find one fully complete. Mine is missing a flag at the top of the roof, I may replace it with a cross. This set also has two very hard to find small pieces: the hand bell and gavel.

I googled to find out more about The Virginia Mountain Boys, but it came up as an online music store, so I am not sure if this unit existed

To Pillage & Plunder We Go!

Sadly when I got into Playmobil, this line has already be discontinue. A total of 11 box sets was released, the Viking Longhouse & Longboat being the most impressive!

More info on the Vikings & their Longboats from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:
A Viking is one of the Norse (Scandinavian) explorers, warriors, merchants, and pirates who raided and colonized wide areas of Europe from the late eighth to the early eleventh century. These Norsemen used their famed longships to travel as far east as Constantinople and the Volga River in Russia, and as far west as Iceland, Greenland, and Newfoundland. This period of Viking expansion is known as the Viking Age, and forms a major part of the medieval history of Scandinavia, the British Isles and Europe in general.

Longships were ships primarily used by the Scandinavian Vikings and the Saxon people to raid coastal and inland settlements during the European Middle Ages. The vessels were also used for long distance trade and commerce, and for exploratory voyages to Iceland, Greenland, and beyond. Longship design evolved over several centuries and was fully developed by about the 9th century. The character and appearance of these ships have been reflected in Scandinavian boat-building traditions until today.

The longship was characterized as a graceful, long, narrow, light wooden boat with a shallow draft hull designed for speed. The ship's shallow draft allowed navigation in waters only one meter deep and permitted beach landings, while its light weight enabled it to be carried over portages. Longships were also double-ended, the symmetrical bow and stern allowing the ship to reverse direction quickly, without having to turn around. Longships were fitted with oars along almost the entire length of the boat itself. Later versions sported a rectangular sail on a single mast which was used to replace or augment the effort of the rowers, particularly during long journeys.

Longships were the epitome of Scandinavian naval power at the time, and were highly valued possessions. They were often owned by coastal farmers and commissioned by the king in times of conflict, in order to build a powerful naval force. While longships were used by the Norse in warfare, they were troop transports, not warships. In the tenth century, these boats would sometimes be tied together in battle to form a steady platform for infantry warfare. They were called dragonships by enemies such as the English. The Norse had a strong sense of naval architecture, and during the 8th–11th centuries, they were advanced for their time.

TFA Jetfire & Jetstorm

Don't open the box to avoid disappointment. I cant pin-point if it is bad on the part of the toy or the design of the bots for the animated series...

Robot mode: Jetfire & Jetstorm has a flat piece molded with finger lines as their fist, this same piece forms the nose in jet mode. Jetfire face doesnt match the animated drawings tat well. He looks rather stupid.

Jet mode: "The first flying Autobots"... & what sort of a flying object the design team came up with...? I dont even know what to call it...

Super Jet mode: Super Lame! Reminds me of basketball players chest-ing each other after a slam dunk!

Safeguard mode: Rather small in size even after combining. No taller then Blurr. Safeguard doesn't have a working fist either. It even has all the screws & production serial numbers showing. What used to be the four arms of Jetfire & Jetstorm, now doubles up as some tubes on Safeguard back. They are rather irritating as they don't stay in place.

The free comic book has a rather dull cover, featuring Jetfire & Jetstorm in jet mode flying in a star-lit space... I didn't even bother to read the story. Given a second chance, I would have skipped it!

Kunoichi

The forth ninja by Crazy Owners: a female ninja. Impressive lookin' & @ an attractive retail price.

She feels a bit skinny under the outfit tho'. Wonder what sort of body is under there?

Lots of loose thread ends to cut & burn off.

I folded the face mask into half & tuck it under her chin as I felt it was to wide.

It is wise to leave the face covered :)

I am unsure if it is the size her boobs or the cutting of the top tat seems to keep showing off her cleavage. Nothing a simple stitch will not fix. I feel female ninja should only use their Never Fail To Distract White As Snow Boobs Move as the final resort.

There are also two slits running down the side of her pants. I wonder what ultimate killer moves those are for... See Tis Snowy White Leg Tat Will Soon Be In Your Mouth Move?

I dont have the male ninja to reference, but it looks like the rest of her arsenal are repeat of the previous releases.
